Kesi joined the lab in March of 2023 as a Senior Research Assistant. She graduated in 2017 with her Masters in Public Health with an emphasis on infectious diseases with the goal of eventually working in a research setting. Originally from Lynchburg, Virginia, she previously worked in different settings including as a veterinary assistant for many years in her parents veterinary practice. She credits this background with giving her the skills and compassion she needed to work in a laboratory animal research environment. In her free time, Kesi enjoys spending time with her two pets; Talulah, a miniature Schnauzer and Sweetie her calico cat. She also enjoys being around water of any type, reading fantasy novels in her spare time and tending to her many house plants.
