Reina Saldivar is an American Cancer Society Post-Baccalaureate Fellow in the Baxter Lab studying the effect of prior infection exposure (PIE) on growth kinetics and the immune environment of implanted mammary tumors in mice. Reina completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2025. During her undergraduate studies, Reina gained a variety of research experiences, ranging from investigating neuroinflammation in the context of diabetic retinopathy to engineering a nanoparticle drug delivery system for a Lyme disease vaccine. Outside the lab, Reina enjoys going to art museums and shows, reading, attending concerts, and playing on her Nintendo Switch.
