Aaryn Mustoe
Dr. Mustoe is a behavioral endocrinologist who is interested in the social development and the neurobiology of social relationships in primates. Dr. Mustoe received his B.S. from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and his Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, studying behavioral endocrinology of marmoset behavior and development. He followed with a postdoctoral position at the University of Nebraska Medical Center working on neuropeptide receptor pharmacology and cell signaling. Dr. Mustoe then transitioned into a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Nebraska at Omaha in the Department of Biology working on questions in neuropeptide signaling and the gut microbiome in marmosets, and teaching courses in behavioral ecology and primatology.
Dr. Mustoe moved to SNPRC as a Staff Scientist in 2022, where he is currently interested in the endocrinology and evolutionary ecology of marmoset social behavior with emphasis on the role of neuropeptide signaling, gut-brain signaling, and the integration of multi-omics to understand social behavior across the lifespan. In his free time Dr. Mustoe likes to hike, play pick-up soccer, and have churrascarias with friends and family.
