Smriti Mehra, Ph.D. is Principal Investigator that studies tuberculosis, HIV and host-directed therapies against TB. Dr. Mehra obtained her Masters in Biochemistry in 1993 and Ph.D. in Genetics in 2002 from the University of Delhi. After finishing her Ph.D, she moved to the USDA, Fruit lab, MD for her postdoctoral fellowship training. She was an Associate Professor and a Core Scientist at the Division of Microbiology, Tulane National Primate Research Center (TNPRC) with an academic home at the Tulane School of Medicine, Department of Microbiology and Immunology till 2018. Since Jan 1, 2023, Dr. Mehra is a Professor at the Texas Biomedical Research Institute where she serves as Core Scientist in the Southwest National Primate Research Center (SNPRC) and the Director of the SNPRC’s Research Support/Immunology Core.
