Marina received a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M in 2010, with emphasis on infectious diseases and veterinary medicine. After one year exploring the research in the rodent model of depression at University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, she Joined Dr. Tim Anderson’s lab at Texas Biomed in 2012, where she gained her molecular biology skills working with malaria and schistosome parasites. Looking to explore more host-pathogen interactions and how cannabinoids can be used across a spectrum of inflammatory diseases, she joined Dr. Mohan’s lab in 2021. Her expertise in the lab are immunophenotyping, neurocognitive testing on Rhesus macaques, DNA methylation, and spatial transcriptomics.
