Jade received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Hofstra University in 2021 with minors in Biochemistry and Philosophy. At Hofstra she was a tutor, peer teacher, teaching assistant, and an undergraduate research assistant studying RNA-binding proteins and innate immune mechanisms in Crassostrea virginica (Eastern oyster). She worked as an Associate Scientist and Scientist I at Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories from 2021-2022 using analytical chemistry methods to test biopharmaceuticals for stability and safety. Jade joined Dr. Mohan’s lab due to her interest in infectious disease research and immunology in 2022 where she now focuses her efforts in immunofluorescent staining, cell culture, and neurocognitive testing methods for Rhesus macaques.
