Kate holds a B.Sc. degree in biomedical sciences from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. She took special interest in neuroscience and psychology, and minored in both. Her academic journey included working in an undergraduate lab, where she provided assistance in studying heritable diseases in domesticated and agricultural animal models. In 2023, she joined the Torrelles Laboratory, where she primarily supports ongoing projects within the lab. This includes work with animal models, assisting active experiments, or analyzing data. Kate's research interests revolve around immunological expression and autoimmune disease, specifically focusing on subjects facing early stress. She aspires to pursue pioneering research in this field, leveraging her current dedication to contribute to advancements in infectious disease studies.
