Our Lab was well represented at the annual American Society for Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (ASTMH) in Toronto (9-13th November). Michael Nipper presented two oral presentations on his malaria work in the Anderson and Cheeseman labs - one on heat adaptation and the other on epistasis for fitness in multidrug resistant malaria. Eric Ndombi (Kenyatta University and Kenya Institute for Medical Research, KEMRI) presented our collaborative MERCK funded work to examine molecular evidence for Praziquantel resistance in Kenyan Schistosomes, while Tim Anderson presented our Gates funded work on pan African surveillance for drug resistance in schistosomes.
