From March 20–26, Tim Anderson visited Côte d'Ivoire as part of a collaborative project with Yves-Nathan Tian Bi (Université Félix Houphouët-Boigny).

During the visit, Dr Tian-Bi’s team collected Bulinus truncatus from locations in the south, central and north of the country. These samples were transported to Texas to support laboratory studies on hybridization between the human parasite Schistosoma haematobium and the related cattle parasite Schistosoma bovis.

In addition, Tim delivered a seminar titled “Resistance aux médicaments chez les schistosomes”, highlighting another collaboration with Nathan on drug resistance in schistosomes.

Many thanks to Nathan and his team for hosting this visit!
