Dr. Winka Le Clec'h was invited by the BRI-Schistosomiasis Resource Center to give a lecture on schistosome parasite research conducted in the Anderson Lab for their bi-annual schistosome course. During this 2.5-day workshop (11/05 - 11/08), scientists will gain a deeper understanding of schistosome parasites and learn how their lifecycles are maintained. The BRI-Schistosomiasis Resource Center performs tremendous work, maintaining the lifecycles of the three human schistosome species (S. mansoni, S. haematobium, and S. japonicum). They provide infected snails, infected rodents, and other schistosome-related materials (such as DNA, RNA from various life stages, and Bge cell lines) to researchers worldwide.
