Francis seminar

On January 20, 2026, Francis Nkemngo, a postdoctoral scientist in our lab, presented “Malaria Control in Africa: Progress, Challenges, and the Way Forward” at the weekly faculty seminar series at Texas Biomedical Research Institute.

The talk highlighted major gains in malaria control over the past two decades, while also addressing emerging challenges such as parasite and mosquito resistance, vaccine hesitancy, rapid diagnostic test (RDT) escape and shifting vector distributions, sparking discussion on future research and policy directions.
